Xiaomi Arena Celebrates 20th Anniversary and Awaits Its 10 Millionth Visitor
This month marks exactly 20 years since Xiaomi Arena (formerly Arena Riga) first opened its doors. Since 2006, the venue has hosted more than 2,500 events, welcoming a total of 9.4 million visitors! Over two decades, the arena has become a key destination for major sporting events and international tour concerts in Latvia.

EAA Launches the First European Arena Industry Master’s Degree in Partnership with the Ulster University Business School
- The EAA and Ulster University will offer the first MSc Business in Technology (MBT) specifically for the arena industry in January 2026
- The MBT is part of the EAA’s education program, designed to provide an inclusive education pathway for all industry professionals

Xiaomi Arena to Go Fully Cashless Starting June 1
Riga, April 24, 2025 Starting from June 1, 2025, Xiaomi Arena will take a significant step toward a more modern and convenient visitor experience — all points of sale within the arena will switch to a fully cashless payment system. From then on, guests will only be able to use cashless payment methods when purchasing snacks, drinks, and other products during events.

Arēna Rīga renamed to Xiaomi Arēna under landmark partnership
Riga’s premier multifunctional venue, Arēna Rīga, and Xiaomi Corporation, a global leader in consumer electronics, are proud to announce a historic partnership. Under this new 5-year agreement, the iconic 12,500-capacity venue in Latvia’s capital will be renamed Xiaomi Arēna, first name change deal in the arena’s history.
