THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS RETURN TO RIGA
Following two previous near-sold-out shows in Latvia, American rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars are set to return to Riga next spring. Their new European tour, “A Beautiful Lie vs. This Is War”, celebrates two of the most defining albums of the band’s career, bringing back the songs that became alternative rock classics of the 2000s. Don’t miss their highly anticipated return to Xiaomi Arena on 21 May!
Tickets go on general sale on 30 October at 10:00 via Biļešu Serviss PLG. Members of the Positivus Festival and FBI Concert Club, as well as Delfi Plus subscribers, will have access to an exclusive presale starting on 29 October at 10:00.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1998, Thirty Seconds to Mars have established themselves as one of the most prominent names in modern alternative rock. At the heart of the band are brothers Jared Leto and Shannon Leto, whose musical collaboration dates to their childhood. Blending alternative rock with electronic elements and emotionally charged melodies, Thirty Seconds to Mars have developed a distinctive sound and built a dedicated following of millions of fans worldwide.
The band’s international breakthrough came with the release of their 2005 album “A Beautiful Lie”, featuring fan favourites such as “The Kill” and “From Yesterday”. This was followed by “This Is War” in 2009, marking a new chapter in their musical evolution. The album expanded on the band’s signature guitar-driven sound, incorporating electronic elements, more elaborate arrangements and powerful choral vocals, with fans themselves contributing to the recordings. With songs such as “Kings and Queens”, “This Is War” and “Closer to the Edge”, the band further cemented their place in the global alternative rock scene.
Throughout their career, Thirty Seconds to Mars have received numerous prestigious music industry accolades, including multiple MTV awards and a Billboard Music Award. One of the band’s most remarkable achievements is closely linked to “This Is War”. During the album’s supporting tour, the band performed 309 shows over more than two years, earning a place in the Guinness World Records. Notably, it was during this very tour that Thirty Seconds to Mars made their first appearance in Riga in 2011.
Known for their spectacular visuals, Jared Leto’s electrifying stage presence and an extraordinary connection with their audience, Thirty Seconds to Mars have long delivered live performances that go far beyond the traditional rock concert experience. Next spring, more than 15 years after their first performance in Latvia, the band will return to Riga, taking the stage at Xiaomi Arena on 21 May to perform some of the most iconic songs of their career!
