Nickelback are one of the most commercially successful rock bands in music history, having sold nearly 65 million albums over more than three decades and attracted fans across generations. The band’s major breakthrough came in 2001 with the release of their album “Silver Side Up” and its hit single “How You Remind Me”, which topped both rock and pop charts. This was followed by a string of internationally recognised hits, including “Someday”, “Far Away”, “Photograph”, “Rockstar” and “Burn It to the Ground”. Their powerful guitar-driven sound, Chad Kroeger’s distinctive vocals and irresistible singalong melodies have become defining characteristics of Nickelback’s music over the years.
Nickelback’s success story is also marked by a number of significant achievements. In 2023, the band were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, while their previous “Get Rollin’” world tour became the fastest-selling and most attended tour in the band’s history. Their enduring popularity was further demonstrated by the Netflix documentary “Hate to Love: Nickelback”, which reached the platform’s global top 10 most-watched films and explored the band’s journey from a small Canadian town to international stardom.
The new “Everything Under The Sun” world tour supports the band’s eleventh studio album, set for release on 30 October. The record combines Nickelback’s signature high-energy rock sound with a more personal and emotional musical direction. Its musical diversity can already be heard in the singles “Leave Me Behind” and “Make Me Love You”, as well as “Rattle The Cage”, recorded in collaboration with guitarist John 5, which reached No. 1 on the US Active Rock radio chart. The tour will kick off in North America in February before heading to Europe in May, with Riga joining major cities such as London, Dublin, Munich and Milan on the itinerary.
British rock band Don Broco will join Nickelback as special guests at their Riga show. Blending elements of rock, metal, post-hardcore and electronic music, the band are known for their high-energy live performances, sold-out shows at iconic UK venues including Wembley Arena and Alexandra Palace, and appearances at major festivals such as Download and Reading & Leeds. The two bands have previously collaborated in the studio on the track “Nightmare Tripping”, and the upcoming tour will bring this musical partnership to the stage.
