A crucial game for the Latvian national team in the fight for a place at the FIBA Basketball World Cup for the second consecutive time.

After eight games in the qualifiers, Latvia have recorded four wins and currently sit in fourth place, while still having a chance to catch their rivals. To keep their hopes alive, Latvia need to win all of their remaining games – including against Israel.

Israel have won two of their eight games and have already lost their chance to qualify for the final tournament.

In the first-round game on August 30 in Riga, Israel led for most of the first half. After the break, however, inspired by the support of the “sixth player”, the Latvian national team took control of the game and secured an 85:70 victory.
